A credit card is a small plastic card issued to users as a system of payment. It allows its holder to buy goods and services based on the holder’s promise to pay for these goods and services. The issuer of the card creates a revolving account and grants a line of credit to the user from which the user can borrow money for payment to a merchant or as a cash advance to the user.

Before, credit cards are very hard to obtain due to rigorous background checks performed by the issuing bank. Now, there are various credit card processing companies who do the background checking for the issuing bank. These companies most likely charge the issuing bank some sort of credit card payment processing fee for every application they have. Also, these days, those merchants who want to have credit card as mode of payment, there are now merchant services credit card processing so they can have this payment option in no time.

Using a credit card has its convenience and inconvenience. Having a credit card allows the user to shop even without cash on hand. Also, it is secure payment, especially when the user needs to buy something very expensive. However, it can be inconvenience at time also because not all merchants accept credit card as payment.
